“It will be your responsibility to teach them and to help them discover who they really are,” he said. “Once they discover their divine origins and their great destiny and potential, they will be filled with Christlike love and the desire to serve Him throughout their lives" M. Russel Ballard

Once we have people get baptized it is important to be their friends and help them know who they are. That they are sons and daughters of a king and we are royalty. With our love and friendship we can help our brothers and sisters.

Not just numbers

“We do not share the gospel merely to increase the numerical size and strength of the latter-day Church. Rather, we seek to fulfill the divinely appointed responsibility to proclaim the reality of the Father’s plan of happiness, the divinity of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and the efficacy of the Savior’s atoning sacrifice.” —Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve

People think we just want people for numbers but we do not. We want them to know how important they are in the eyes of our Father. How He wants them back with Him. The eternal plan of salvation is the most important thing in this Universe. We are all missionaries and we must do our part.

Do not yield

"Do not yield to Satan’s enticements; rather, stand firm for truth. The unsatisfied yearnings of the soul will not be met by a never-ending quest for joy a midst the thrills of sensation and vice. Vice never leads to virtue. Hate never promotes love. Cowardice never gives courage. Doubt never inspires faith." Thomas S. Monson (We need pioneers today July 2013)

Satan is always ready to take us down. In whatever comes our way. We need to remember that Faith will always be stronger than fear. We need to stand firm in what we know is right. There are times when we do fall but we need to know that those thrills will not compare to the eternal happiness our Heavenly Father promises us.

Never leave Him.

President Thomas S. Monson “Unless the root of your testimony are firmly planted, it will be difficult for you to withstand the ridicule of those who challenge your faith, Nephi said ‘Heed them not,” Paul admonished, “God hath not given us the spirit of fear.” Be not.. Ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, We never leave Him.”

I have seen too many loved ones leave because of little things. I have been present when their testimonies were given and they have lifted me on my sad days. Many have left because the world would not accept them for who they were representing. They were ridiculed and chose to leave in order to be accepted. I know I will never be popular and I do not want to be. If the things I stand for are not popular than I do not want any part of it.

I do not fear of what is to come because I have faith.

Perfection, not in this life.

"Perfection does not come in this life, but we exercise faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and keep our covenants. Neil L. Andersen General Conference October 2010

I am not perfect and I do not think I will ever be. I try my best and that is all I can. I love how the Faith i have in this life can keep me going through the hard times. That is really all we have, Faith. Faith that we will be with Him once more. That we will have our families with us in the eternities.

Weak moments

"In our weakened moments, the adversary seeks to steal our spiritual promises. If we are not watchful, our injured, childlike spirit will retreat back into the cold, dark crust of our former bloated ego, leaving behind the warm, healing light of the Savior.” Neil L. Andersen General Conference October 2010

When I was in Young Women there was a speaker told us a story. For some reason there was a member who went over to the bishops home late at night. He just wanted to come by and tell him that he would no longer be going to church. He said that he heard his story or excuse and was very sad. While he listened to him he started to look at his fireplace. Once the brother was done. He got up and told his brother. "look at this piece of coal." He removed it from the rest of the coals and they both watched its red heat drift off and turn gray and cold into the night. "Brother, that is you and the other coals are the gospel." They both sat there crying without words.

I have found many times when things have gotten the best of me. Then I remember this story. I know that there will be more trials coming my way but just like a little coal, I need to be in the gospel in order for me to continue with my faith and the Light of the Savior.

We are all in this together

"We are all in this together. With fellow ward members and missionaries, we plan and pray and help one another. Please keep the full-time missionaries in your thoughts and prayers. Trust them with your family and friends. They Lord trust them and has called them to teach and bless those who seek him.” Elder Neil L. Andersen was from General Conference April 2013

I have never been so close to missionary work than now that my brother is on his mission. The responsibilities we as members now have are also increasing. This is all of our work. We all need to do our part to help our brothers and sisters know the Savior.  Just like a piece of cake, wouldn't we want everyone to have a piece of the most delicious cake ever created?

We are all missionaries

“Brothers and sisters, as surely as the Lord has inspired more missionaries to serve, He is also awakening the minds and opening the hearts of more good and honest people to receive His missionaries, you already know them or will know them. They are in your family and live in your neighborhood. They walk past you on the street, sit by you in school, and connect with you online. You too are an important part of this unfolding miracle.” Elder Neil L. Andersen was from General Conference April 2013

I have been very selfish about what I believe. You might want to say I have been scared to share what I believe in. I have friends who know what I am but have not even asked them to come with me to church. I have not planned to have them come to a family home evening. I know them well but the fear of rejection is what is holding me back.

I know that I need to be more open and invite people. I know that I am a missionary but I do not practice it. I need to be more open and daring.

Go Forth!

“We take most seriously the Savior’s mandate.. ‘Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” :this cause.. will continue to go forth, changing and blessing lives.. no force is the entire world can stop the work of God.” Elder Neil L. Andersen was from General Conference April 2013

This is a bold statement. I love how he says "no force can stop us". At the same time I stop myself. That needs to change in order for me to do my part in this missionary revolution. Every time I get a letter from my brother, I am amazed that he is out there in another country and preaching. He is such a great example for me and my family.

I need to be that strong. I need to take the Saviors mandate more serious. I need to help bring families back to the presence of our Heavenly Father.
"his commandments are the cause of reality and our protection against self-inflicted pain. They scriptures are the touchstone for measuring correctness and truth, and they are clear that real happiness lies not in denying the justice of God or trying to circumvent the consequences of sin but in repentance and forgiveness through the atoning grace of the Son of God.” D. Todd Christofferson General Conference April 2010

The scriptures have been everything to me. To know of the truth of His gospel. I am so thankful to all the prophets who obeyed Heavenly Father and wrote of his truth. I wonder where we would be if these scriptures were not here to testify of our Savior. To know that we can repent and we can have forgiveness. That we are not lost and we are able to be back with our Father in Heaven.

Enlarge our Memory

"The scriptures also enlarge our memory by helping us not forget what we and earlier generations have learned. Those who either don’t have or ignore the recorded words of God eventually cease to believe in Him and forget the purpose of their existence. There scriptures were key to their knowledge of God and the coming of Redemption of Christ.” D. Todd Christofferson General Conference April 2010

There is a documentary that I watched during last conference by BYUTV. I do not remember the title but I do remember that it was about the Bible. How it came to be. The people who died to bring these scriptures into the light and hands of people not in the clergy. I also noticed that people now no longer read it. Many knew that what it was and that it was for church but no one read it. No one had time for it. They knew it was important but no one picked it up. There were some who did not believe it.

That was so sad. Many people were executed for those precious words to be at our fingertips. our society shows us what has been said above. Those who ignore it for get about God. Just like lemuel and laman. They no longer believed in God because they had no scriptures. That is what is happening now. People forget Him because the do not read of Him.

Scriptures

“Through the scriptures, God does indeed “show forth His power” to save and exalt His children. By His words, as Alma said, He enlarges our memory, sheds light on falsehood and error, and brings us to repentance and to rejoice in Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.”  D. Todd Christofferson General Conference April 2010

The scriptures show us how powerful God is. How he is Omnipotent. Without the scriptures we would not know of His greatness and our Faith would fail us. In these words we are able to fortify our faith in Him.

Support system

“Some forms of temporal redemption come by collaborative effort. It is one of the reasons the Savior created a church. Being organized in quorums and auxiliaries and in stakes, wards, and branches, we can not only teach and encourage each other in the gospel, but we can also bring to bear people and resources to deal with the exigencies of life.” Elder D. Todd Christofferson  General Conference April 2013

When we are in the service of others we are in the service of God. We are our own answers to prayers. We can be guided to the right place only if we listen. We are here to learn from each other and we have a support system here on earth. This can help us go back to our Heavenly Father.

Help others

“Much of our redemptive work on earth is to help others grow and achieve their just hopes and aspirations.” Elder D. Todd Christofferson General Conference April 2013

As I have said before. We are here on earth to help one another. We are each others answers to prayers. That is why we all need to be ready to do service and help one another. We are Heavenly Fathers hands here on earth. When we do service for each other we are servicing our God.

The Atonement

“The Savior’s suffering in Gethsemane and His agony on the cross redeem us from sin by satisfying the demands that justice has upon us. He extends mercy and pardons those who repent. The Atonement also satisfies the debt justice owes to us by healing and compensating us for any suffering we innocently endure.” Elder D. Todd Christofferson General Conference April 2013

To think that he suffered for me. For every pain I have ever felt. For every heart ache I have ever had. When I lost my mother that was the biggest pain I have ever felt and the Savior felt that. He knows how I felt when I saw my mother die in front of me. He has felt my pain. Not only there but what I have been through. Not only mine but everyone ever here on earth and those to come.

By his Grace we can go back to our Heavenly Father. How can I not take that precious gift?

Stand in Holy places

"wherefore, stand in holy places, and be not moved. Standing obedient and strong on the doctrine of our God, we stand in holy places, for His doctrine is sacred and will not change in the social and political winds of our day." Robert D Hales General Conference April 2013

When we stand in holy places we have no reason to fail. There should be no temptation when we are at the right places. The doctrine will never change no matter what. Then stand there and be not moved. There is no other way.

Stand strong

"We have the responsibility to stand strong with a shield of faith against the fiery darts of the adversary. We are role models to the world, protecting God-given, inalienable rights and freedoms. We stand in defense of our homes and our families." Robert D Hales General Conference April 2013

We may not think anyone is looking but everyone is. I thought for a long time that I was invisible in High School when someone wrote about me. It was an essay of who they looked up to and it had to be someone in school. Many wrote about teachers and popular kids. One guys, who seemed to be the class druggy, wrote about me?!

From what I read, since I was given a copy by my counselor, I was a role model. One, I was not pregnant, I never said bad words, and I was always smiling. I never in my life thought anyone knew who I was in High School. We do have a responsibility to stand strong.

The Lords answers

"We may not know when or how the Lord's answers will be given, but in His time and His way, I testify, His answers will come. For some answers we may have to wait until the hereafter. This may be true for some promises in our patriarchal blessings and for some blessings are family members. Let us not give up on the Lord. his blessings are eternal, not temporary." Robert D Hales General Conference April 2011

To know that we have eternity to have some answers given to us. That is hope for me. I have a few unanswered questions but I know that the day and time will come when the Lord knows I will be able to have those answers. They may not come in this lifetime but in the next. To that I am thankful.

Our requirement

"To hope and trust in the Lord requires faith, patience, humility, meekness, long-suffering, keeping the commandments, and enduring to the end."Robert D Hales General Conference April 2011

I am the most inpatient person in the world but I have faith. I know that I need to be what the Lord wants me to be. I need to be more humble and meek. I need to keep all of the commandments and I can be with Him if I do. I have so much to work for but I know I can do it.

Trials

"Test and trials are given to all of us. These mortal challenges allow us and our Heavenly Father to see whether we will exercise our agency to follow His Son. He already knows, and we have the opportunity to learn, that no matter how difficult our circumstances." Robert D Hales General Conference April 2011

I need to remember that trials will always come. These trials are here to teach me something that I need to learn. Even if they are tough with Faith in His son I can endure to the end. I know that Heavenly Father has so much planned for me and I need to trust Him. I need to be obedient.

life

"The purpose of our life on earth is to grow, develop, and be strengthened through our own experiences." Robert D. Hales General Conference 10-2011

I do not remember what prophet was speaking in a funeral and the person who has passed awasy had suffered a lot even when this lady was so faithful and strong. He explained that a diamond is not created over night. That it is with pressure that a diamond is created. I think of my mother that way. During her last years here on earth she had so much paid. I know that she had so much strength and she grew spiritually while she was here. She endured to the end and her faith was so strong.

promises

"All things are possible to the Lord, and He keeps the promises He inspires His prophets to declare. Eternity is a long time. Have faith in those promises and live to be worthy of them so that in His time the Lord can make them come true in your life. With certainty, you will receive every promised blessing for which you are worthy." Richard G. Scott General Conference April 2011

The Lord will never promise something He cannot keep. That is why We need to endure to the end and hold on to the Iron Rod. If we continue to live worthy we will get all the blessings that we are promissed.

Unselfish

"Marriage provides an ideal setting for overcoming any tendency to b selfish or self-centered. I think one of the reasons that we are counseled to get married early in life is to avoid developing inappropriate character traits that are hard to change." Richard G. Scott General Conference April 2011

When you love someone you try to make them happy because they make you happy. That is something I would like to have one day. Being in an eternal marriage is something that is unselfish. If they keep the covenants made in the temple. I love the quote above. Specially now when being single is the "in" thing even for members.

Pure love

"Pure love is an incomparable, potent power for good.Righteous love is the foundation of a successful marriage. It is the primary cause of contented, well-developed children." Richard G. Scott General Conference April 2011

I love this quote, i saw this quote live and in person with my parents. That is something I would like to have one day. We may not be the best children in the world but the love that was given to us growing up is what made us different from the rest.

Temple Marriage

"Two of the vital pillars that sustain Father in Heaven's happiness are marriage and the family...The temple sealing has greater meaning as life unfolds. It will help you draw ever closer together and find greater joy and fulfillment in mortality." Richard G. Scott General Conference April 2011

I hope to have this someday. I know that my parents were great example of this. To this day the love that I see my dad have for my mother after her death is remarkable.

Believe

"Be not afraid, only believe" Gordon B Hinkley

This is a quote that President Hinkley thought of when he was on his mission. Reminded me of my brother who is serving and has had some hard times. To know that a prophet can carry himself during his mission with these simple words humbles me. I will not be afraid because I believe.

When problems come

"When problems come and questions arise, do not start your quest for faith by saying how much you do not have, leading as it were with your "unbelief".. Be true to the faith you do have. Sometimes we act as if an honest declaration of doubt is a higher manifestation of moral courage than is an honest declaration of faith. It is not!" Elder Jeffrey R. Holland General Conference April 2013

When we just hold on to what we know, what we have faith in that will hold us until we get further knowledge. That test will help us know that we can get further knowledge and testify of it. The more we stand strong the stronger we get.

Fear not

"In moments of fear or doubt or troubling times, hold the ground you have already won, even if that ground is limited..Hold fast to what you already know and stand strong until additional knowledge comes."  Elder Jeffrey R. Holland General Conference April 2013
